As of the 5 pm update, I was talking to Dick Fleishman, the media liaison, and he said the fire is in the upper part of West Fork, in an area called Casner Cabin Draw. From what I can tell, it’s a very rugged, remote rock climbing area. I looked up photos, and the terrain is steep and difficult. This is currently the eastern edge of the fire. The photos look like a rock climbing route in West Fork. I couldn’t find any I could legally share with you, but you can do a search and see them for yourself. Also, I don't claim perfection with the map I included here but you can also look it up yourself on Google Earth
The fire is moving laterally, both east and west, and is about four miles from Oak Creek.

Crews are increasing efforts with more water drops and fire retardant than before. At the same time, it’s an extremely dangerous place to fight fire, so they are carefully assessing where and when and if it’s even possible to engage safely.
I asked about the apple orchard / old ledge / swimming pool area, since that’s one of the only more open spots I know out there. The hope is to stop the fire before it reaches that point.
The fire has entered terrain where stopping it will be extremely difficult.
